Kim Yoo-Jin is a singer and actress commonly known as Yoo-Jin in Korea (professionally known in English as Eugene). She's known mostly for her musical career as part of the hit K-pop (that's Korean pop) group S.E.S. She grew up in Guam, and currently lives in Korea with her family. She is fluent in Chamorro, English, and her native Korean. Eugene, as fans call her, weighs 44 kilograms and stands at 163 cm. After the split of S.E.S. in 2002, Yoo-Jin has appeared in Korean soap operas, namely "Loving You", "Save The Last Dance", and "Wonderful Life" and "I Really, Really Like You". She has also appeared in numerous TV ads. She has released two solo albums. Her first album, "My True Style", has sold nearly 65,000 records and had one hit ballad, The Best. Her second album 810303 sold a disappointing 19,000 copies. Although sales were low, Eugene still had a very successful single with Windy, mostly due to her new "sexy" image (compared to her previous girl next door image). This song was performed on all the music video programs in Korea for many months, in addition to her second single. Promotions were stopped near the end of the year. Eugene did some promotional work here in the Philippines in mid-2006. As of 2007, she is one of the co-hosts of KBS's Happy Together: Friends, taking over from Lee Hyori. Also, she has become part of the musical version of the film Innocent Steps. She also co-starred in her movie debut in "Unstoppable Marriage" (May 10, 2007 Korean).  
Career Start and S.E.S. Sea (Sung Hee Choi), Eugene (Yoo-jin Kim), and Shoo (Soo Young Yoo) are the three female members of S.E.S. You may have noticed that the initials of each of their names is the basis of their group name. The group came into existence through auditions held by the Korean company SM Entertainment, who was looking to form a new girl group to complement their already popular male Korean pop group, H.O.T. When the three were chosen to form this new female group, Shoo said that they were really close friends during the auditions, and that they were always together. So when they heard that they were all chosen, they were very excited and happy. It sounds like it was meant to be. Debuting in 1997, S.E.S. became one of the biggest Korean groups of all time, having the record for biggest selling album by a female group in Korea. While in S.E.S., Eugene became known for her beauty and was part of the reason why S.E.S. had many advertising contracts. In fact, for certain print campaigns (like for Korean cosmetics company Etude), Eugene had the leading role, being the focus of the advertisements. Though vocally weaker than Bada and Shoo, Eugene became the face of SES in advertising. S.E.S has released at least 4 Korean albums, 7 Japanese singles and 3 Japanese albums.
