Is there anyone in the "Star Wars" universe cooler than the Jedi? (Well, maybe Boba Fett. And Han. But Jedis are at least a solid third with Wookies trailing a distant fourth.)
If you just want to look really cool this Halloween without creeping out others and yourself, then a Jedi costume is definitely a great choice for you. Jedis are the easiest costumed look to achieve. You don't have to buy one. Get some black or brown fabric, a lightsaber and with a little bit of imagination and you're all set. Nothing beats homemade.
Fortunately, a group of Jedis (see photos below) from far far away has just arrived on our planet just in time before Halloween. And they are giving some quick Jedi fashion tips:

This Jedi plans to "go green" by recycling his armor into an Iron Man costume for Halloween.
